2024年4月、東京大学は「多様性包摂共創センター(IncluDE,インクルード)」を設立しました。
今日は、開所から1年半経過したことを記念したキックオフシンポジウムが開催されました。
DEIとは
Diversity（多様性）
Equity（公平性）
Inclusion（包括性）
の頭文字を取った略語
世の中で反DEIの動きが見られる中、東京大学がこのような発信をすることには意味があると思います。
今日のシンポジウムには、総長やピアニストの方の他、友人でありBBCキャスターの大井真理子さんも登壇され、各視点からDEIに関するディスカッションが行われました。
まずは、自分のありのままを受け入れること、
そして、この人だったら伝えられるな、という人に自分のことを伝えること、
そういった小さな積み重ねから、DEIを大切にする社会が作られていくのだと思いました。
In April 2024, the University of Tokyo established the Center for Coproduction of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IncluDE).
Today, a kickoff symposium was held to commemorate the center’s first year and a half since opening.
Amidst the anti-DEI movements seen in society, I believe it is meaningful for the University of Tokyo to make such a statement.
Today’s symposium featured not only the President and the pianist, but also my friend Mariko Oi, a BBC broadcaster, who took the stage. Discussions on DEI unfolded from various perspectives.
First, accept yourself as you are.
and then sharing your story with someone you feel can truly understand and convey it.
I believe that through these small, cumulative steps, a society that values DEI will be built.
