先日、道路を歩行者天国にして、「みちあそび」を開催しました。
都市部では特に、子どもが遊べるスペースが減っていて、生活道路を使ってのあそびを展開することは、子どもだけでなく、大人や高齢者や地域が交流できる場としても有効だと思います。
道路使用許可や道路占用許可が必要となりますが、世田谷区ではみちあそびの推進のために、子ども関連、道路関連の部署が協力して、運営者をサポートする体制を作ってくださることになりました。そのような温かい区であることを誇らしく思います。
交通面での安全の確保を第一に考えながら、地域が交流するのに適した道路を一時的にあそびに使う取り組みが広がっていくよう願っています。
The other day, we closed off a road to traffic and held a “Road Play” event.
Especially in urban areas, spaces for children to play are dwindling. Using residential streets for play activities is effective not only for children but also as a place for adults, seniors, and the community to interact.
While road use permits and road occupancy permits are required, Setagaya City has established a support system for organizers. This involves collaboration between departments related to children and roads to promote Michiasobi. I am proud that our city is such a warm and welcoming place.
I hope initiatives like this, which temporarily use roads suitable for community interaction while prioritizing traffic safety, will continue to expand.
