全国若手議員の会・国際交流部会の研修2日目
全国若手議員の会・国際交流部会の研修2日目は、まず日米協会の藤崎一郎会長よりお話を伺いました。
元駐米日本大使のお立場から、現在のアメリカとの関係性について、本音を交えてお話いただき、米国との関係性には、ロシア、中国、北朝鮮との関係性が大きく関わっていることや、長期的視点をもった外交政策の重要性などについて、学ぶことができました。
また、三軒茶屋にあるテンプル大学を訪問し、米国の教育を日本で身につけられる醍醐味や、国際的感覚を培う教育について教えていただきました。
またテンプル大学の学生さん達とも交流し、日本の政策について多角的な視点から考えるきっかけをいただきました。
全国から集まった若手議員メンバーに、世田谷区を訪れてもらうことができ、充実した研修となりました。
On the second day of the Young Councilors’ Association of Japan International Exchange Subcommittee training, we first heard from Mr. Ichiro Fujisaki, President of the America-Japan Society.
Drawing on his experience as former Japanese Ambassador to the United States, he discussed Japan’s current relationship with America. We learned how relations with Russia, China, and North Korea significantly impact ties with the U.S., as well as the importance of long-term diplomatic policy perspectives.
We also visited Temple University in Sangenjaya, where we learned about the unique value of acquiring a U.S. education in Japan and the importance of education that cultivates an international perspective.
Furthermore, we had the opportunity to interact with Temple University students, which provided us with a chance to consider Japanese policies from multiple angles.
Having young legislators from across the nation visit Setagaya made for a highly fulfilling training session.
