審査の結果選ばれたのは、デンマークのNatasha Arthy監督による「Honey」という作品です。

審査は簡単ではありませんでした。最終審査に残った2作品の間で意見が割れましたが、子どもたちに「人生」とは何かを語る時、このような作品を通して伝えられることがあるのではないかという気持ちを、賞を通して形にできて良かったです。
構成、演技、メッセージ性の全てにおいて、突出したものを感じる作品でした。是非多くの方に観ていただきたいです。

表彰式では、たくさんの若者が作った作品も表彰されました。舞台上で子どもたちが恐縮しながら喜ぶ姿を見ながら、子ども時代に心に残る機会を与えることの素晴らしさを実感しました。好きなことを見つけて、一生懸命取り組める環境を大人が用意できたら、子どもたちは素直に輝けるのです。

世界中で子どもや若者のために映画祭を開催する人たちとの出会いや、ディスカッションは有意義でした。また、フェスティバルを支えるたくさんの韓国の若者との出会いも貴重でした。

この経験を持ち帰り、日本の子どもたちのために活かしたいと思います。

The closing ceremony of the 20th Pusan Children and Youth International Film Festival was held. As a result of the screening, the Starlight Award was given to “Honey” directed by Natasha Arthy from Denmark.

The screening process was not easy. Opinions were divided between the two films that remained in the final screening, but I am glad that through the award we were able to give form to the feeling that when we talk to children about what “life” means to them, there is something we can convey through works such as this one. I felt that the composition, acting, and message of this work were all outstanding. I hope many people will see it.

At the award ceremony, many works created by young people were also honored. As I watched the children onstage dreading and rejoicing, I realized how wonderful it is to give them the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on their childhoods. If adults can provide an environment where children can find what they love and work hard at it, they can shine with honesty.

It was meaningful to meet and discuss with people who organize film festivals for children and youth around the world. It was also valuable to meet many Korean young people who support the festival. I would like to take this experience back home and put it to good use for the children of Japan.
