三軒茶屋にあるテンプル大学内には、フードパントリー専用のロッカーが置かれています。食品が余っている人は入れておき、必要な学生は自由に取っていくシステムです。いつ大学に行っても、ロッカーの中に食べ物があるので、うまく機能しているのだと思います。

日本では、誰が取りに来たか、何をいくつもらっていったかなどを把握したくなってしまうのではないかと思います。でもこうやって自然に物が循環していく仕組みを作っている発想の豊かさが必要なのではないかと思います。

食品を提供する人ともらう人の信頼関係があることが前提ですが、このような循環が色んな所で見られるようになると良いです。

［Food Pantry Lockers]

Lockers dedicated to the food pantry are placed inside Temple University in Sangenjaya. The system is that those who have extra food can put it in there, and students who need it are free to take it. I think it works well because whenever I go to the university, there is always food in the lockers.

In Japan, I think you would want to keep track of who came to pick up the food, what they got and how many they got, and so on. But I think we need to be rich in ideas that create a system where things circulate naturally in this way.

It is assumed that there is a relationship of trust between those who provide food and those who receive it, but it would be good if this kind of circulation could be seen in many places.
