特に世田谷区で完成したばかりの「子どもの権利条例」について説明し、子どもは大人への準備期間としてというよりも、子どもならではの意見やアイディアを社会の仕組みに反映させていく必要があることなどをお話しました。

子どもたちからはたくさんの質問をもらい、「区議会がとても固いイメージだったが、子どもの意見をとりいれていることや、街のいろいろなところに関係していて驚いた」など、素直な感想をいただきました。

「子どもにとって、政治家という職業を選択肢の一つにしたい」という思いをもってこの世界に入りました。
子どもたちとの交流の時間をこれからも大切にしていきたいです。

I visited a social studies class at my alma mater, the Sacred Heart Elementary School. I spoke to the 6th graders, who have been learning about politics, about the city assembly and my experiences so far.

In particular, I explained about the “Children’s Rights Ordinance” just completed in Setagaya, and talked about the need for children to reflect their unique opinions and ideas in the social structure rather than as a preparation period for adulthood.

I received many questions from the children and received honest feedback such as, “I had an image of the city assembly as being very rigid, but I was surprised to see that it takes in the opinions of children and is related to various parts of the city.“

I want to make politics one of my children’s dream jobs. I would like to continue to cherish the time I spend interacting with children.
